Fazoli’s Baked Lasagna 

Fazoli’s baked lasagna is at the top of my list on my cheat days. I prefer to keep things on a healthier side – I prefer to do it at home. I make perfectly cooked creamy layers of pasta with marinara sauce, ricotta cheese and melted mozzarella following this recipe.

  • Oven-ready lasagna noodles (skip the boiling step!)
  • Marinara sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • Provolone cheese
  • Mozzarella cheese (shredded)
  • Ground beef to make meat sauce (ready-made is also available) 
  • Eggs (to mix with ricotta)
  • Parmesan cheese (for topping)
  • Fresh basil and oregano (optional, for a burst of flavor)

Arrange all ingredients in exact quantities to cook it perfectly. No time! No mess! It is a quick dish.

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) 
  • Make ricotta mixture in a bowl. Mix ricotta cheese, eggs, salt and herbs (basil/oregano).
  • Meat sauce requires meat, oil, garlic and chopped onions. Saute meat with garlic and chopped onion on low flame in a pan. Cook until it’s brown, and drain excess fat. 
  • Stir in the marinara sauce. Add salt, pepper and Italian herbs (basil, oregano). 
  • Simmer for 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally, to blend flavors.
  • Ready to layer your lasagna? Layering is basically important in it. Make a layer of meat sauce at the bottom of the baking dish following the oven-ready lasagna noodles. Add ricotta, mozzarella and provolone cheese. Repeat the layering process unless it’s all done, and ingredients are settled.
  • Baking time starts now. Place the baking dish in the preheated oven wrapped in foil paper. At least, bake for 40 minutes.
  • Remove the foil paper after 10 mins, and let the cheese melt on the top. 

When completely baked, put it aside for at least 10 minutes before serving. 

Dish out and serve. Make it on Sunday brunch for friends & family.
